TACC Auto Apprenticeships is the largest industry specific group scheme in Tasmania.
The automotive industry employs more than 300,000 people across Australia, through more than 60,000 enterprises. There are 3 major areas:
- Vehicle manufacturers
- Component manufacturers
- Retail, service and repair
The automotive industry is not just limited to motor mechanics, auto electricians, spray painters or body repairers. The industry also includes the manufacture, sale, service and repair of buses, trucks and trailers, heavy machinery, marine products, outdoor power equipment, motorcycles and even bicycles.
Advances in technology have led to a growing number of career opportunities, and high vehicle sales have increased the numbers of vehicles requiring maintenance and repair. In turn, we are seeing a growing need for skilled tradespeople.
TACC Auto Apprenticeships connects host employers with eager students and offers help and advice if needed.
